  • Exploring your lived experiences today, moment by moment. Talking about your past only when you sense it’s relevant to how you feel today. 

  • We pay attention to what's happening in your body - because stress lives in the tension we carry, the breath we hold, the numbness we barely notice, and the panic that seems to come from nowhere. Our bodies hold the story of everything we've experienced, and so we tune into them.

  • Creating a compassionate and non-judgemental space so you can show up as you are, however that may be. We get curious about what you’ve lived through, how you adapted, and what you need now.

How settled self approaches COMPLEX STRESS

I’m Kate, a qualified and registered psychotherapist based in London.

My experience working with complex stress and trauma comes not only through psychotherapy, but also through years offering body-based stress-release therapy.

With more than a thousand clients, I have felt the wordless tension of a life braced with fear and anxiety. Chronic stress issues live in our tissues, not just our heads. Sadness and loss, regret and anguish, all held in the body.

My own recovery began with learning how to work with my nervous system, slowly building my capacity to deal with difficulties. That’s why I believe working with the body is essential to sustainable healing from complex stress and trauma.
